Writing

• Multiple journal entries per day, each timestamped.
• Markdown-first editor (Tiptap) with a focused toolbox; bold / italic / list / heading / code / link / image / task-list / quote — every action available from keyboard or toolbox.

• Repeat rules — habits seed themselves each morning; the system distinguishes recurring seeds from manually-typed todos.

• External calendar overlays — read-only ICS file, ICS URL, and Google Calendar (calendar.readonly only; .Ember never writes back).

Focus

• Pomodoro-style timer with configurable work / break lengths; runs a block straight from the todo list.
• Stats dashboard — focus hours, completion rate, journal streak, top blocks; computed locally from your vault.

News

• RSS reader with two-pane layout (article column + reader).
• Save-to-journal — one click adds the article to today’s journal entry.
• Sandboxed reader iframe; YouTube / Vimeo embeds become click-to-open thumbnail cards.
• OPML import + export.

Sync & integrations

• Optional iCloud sync via Apple CloudKit private DB.
• Optional Obsidian Sync — mirrors Markdown between .Ember’s vault and a separate Obsidian vault on a configurable schedule. Two folders, never the same path; first run is a dry-run preview; conflict-loser files preserved automatically.
• Optional Google Calendar overlay.
• Bring-your-own-key AI (Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, OpenAI), gated by a single master toggle. Three features when enabled: Auto-arrange Inbox, Daily Brief (curated RSS top section), and command-palette quick actions.

Surface

• Cmd+K command palette over a fresh-launch SQLite FTS5 backfill.
• Six hand-tuned accent themes plus per-theme custom color picker (WCAG AA contrast validation).
• Adaptive sidebar — auto-collapses to an 80 px icon-only column on narrow windows, fitting the macOS traffic-light cluster cleanly inside it.
• Korean + English UI; Korean throughout in 존댓말. Hangul IME composition preserved across every input.
• Tray app for quick capture (todo + timer).

Privacy

• No analytics, no crash-reporter, no advertising tracker, no IDFA.
• Zero outbound network requests on a clean install with no integrations enabled.
• Mac App Store sandboxed, security-scoped bookmarks for vault + external sync targets.
